Scavenger Hunt

Since there were so many days that we were locked up due to the ice and snow, I had to start coming up with different things to do to keep the kids entertained. I wanted to do something that Audrey could also do. So, I made up a list of RANDOM things throughout the house and the kids did a Scavenger Hunt. Audrey didn't really do much except run after Michael the whole time....but she had fun. The kids enjoyed it...it was something different. I think at this point in the week, they just wanted to do something!

Toy Hatchet

Scooby-Doo book

Alligator (it's in the toy box)

This is where I had then put all the stuff they found

Audrey's green and navy jacket (I told you it was random)

Audrey started to get into the spirit. She is not letting Michael put the jacket in the bin...because SHE wants to do it. It never made it in the bin...she got preoccupied. LOL

The piggy sleeping bag

Playing in the Snow...Round Two

After playing in the snow that morning, we went into the house to work up for a couple of hours before heading back out for round two. We went across the street to our neighbors house so the kids could play in the snow together. Their kids are a little bit older than my kids...but they play awesome together.

Not sure what they are doing...but they look like they are up to something
Again....with the snow ball fights.
Look at this cutie pie
And these eyes
As you can see, by about noon, all the snow on our street had melted. The roads every where else were still terrible.

Playing in the Snow....Round One

The other week, we had some CRAZY weather here in DFW! It started getting bad on Tuesday and lasted through Friday! So, we were all couped up in the house for basically the entire week. It was so nice to get to be with the kids all week, but not being able to leave AT ALL...it was frustrating! We were not able to go out side for the first few days, for a couple of reasons. One, it was SOOOOO cold and way too icy, and two, the kiddos had strep throat that they were trying to get over. I didn't think the bitterly cold air would help matters. BUT, we were finally able to venture outside on Friday. That was the day we got all the snow. We had so much fun. All Audrey wanted to do was eat the snow and Michael was all about the snow ball fights.

Getting ready to go outside. I am sure these kids felt like that kid off of A Christmas Story. They had like 3 layers of clothes on!

These Boots Were Made for Walkin'

Audrey has already started "borrowing" my shoes. She loves to play in my closet. She came out in my boots and I had to get some pictures of it. It was so cute.

Here we go...
They may be a little big
"Look at my new boots, Daddy!"

Sitting on the Table

One day, I made the mistake of stopping and sitting on the table in the living room for a second to watch something that was on TV. Now Audrey climbs up on the table to sit there all the time. Oops...my bad.

I had to beg Michael to come and sit with Audrey to take a picture. He would not look at the camera

Mommy's Picture

Michael drew me a picture the other day. He told me it was a fence. I will have to say...I can see it. LOL. Michael will not let me take pictures of him very often anymore...so I take advantage when I can.

Cutting Dora's Toe Nails

Audrey's toe nails were in desperate need of a trim. So, I sat her down in front of the couch and cut her toe nails. I left the room for a second to go and do something and when I got back this is what I found. She got the clippers and her Dora doll and sat her down in front of the couch. She then pretended to cut Dora's toe nails. So cute!

Playing in the Backyard

Michael and Audrey filling up the dump truck with dirt
Michael showing Audrey how he can go down the slide head first. Audrey could not get that left leg around, so she slide down the slide with her leg tucked under her every time.
When Michael would slide down head first, he would pretend to fall over and Audrey thought is was the funnest thing every time!

Fits

So, I thought it only fitting that I include a post about Audrey's fits. Anytime she doesn't get her way in the slightest, she will throw a HUGE fit. Here is the story of this particular fit. I was cooking dinner one evening and Michael came into the kitchen in Audrey's pink car. She was not playing with it, but once she saw that Michael was playing with it...she wanted it (or she didn't want Michael to have it). Sooooo....

...she falls on the floor and starts screaming (look at her clenched fists)

Michael thought maybe she wanted the huge Teddy Bear (he is always looking out for her)
Nope, doesn't want the Teddy Bear

And now all is right with the world again. LOL.
